ABOUT Chris

Chris Fisher is a Chichester based artist, designer, and author (Self proclaimed!)

His artwork shows a wide range of interests. Chaotic, perhaps. He dives into his occasionally puerile sense of humour, and the entropic aspects of art and design, along with his interest for ordered design.

Chris has always held a keen interest in art and design. Starting at an early age he was encourage and taught by various family members. From sketching with his Aunt, watercolour painting with his Grandad, woodworking and mathematical geometry with his Grandpa, to crafts and DIY with his parents. Creativity has been engrained by his incredible, and creative family.

Without any formal training or education past high school Chris has managed to start and pursue a career in jewellery design, excelling to the position of Bespoke Manager in a local  highend independent jewellery company. All while gaining ever more inspiration, influence and creative direction from an incredible industry. He continues to create new and exciting artworks in his spare time.

Drawing influence from the worlds of fine art, jewellery, street art, creative writing, science fiction, and just about anything else he could consume. His techniques developed to a broad spectrum consisting of but not limited to, pen and pencil sketching, technical drawing, digital drawing, CAD/CAM, 3D modelling and digital rendering, digital fractal rendering and animation, painting. A true jack of all trades!

Today Chris’ work consist mainly of hand drawn doodles and digitally created fractal renders.

The simple joy of creating is what drives Chris’ craft. Finding and trying new techniques and the excitement of learning new ways of using existing knowledge. He has a potentially selfish but consistent drive to distract himself from the world, to release what troubles and to leave behind these things in the form of art.

Everything Chris creates is directed towards his own tastes, and towards entertaining himself. Creating a feeling, whether that be positive or negative, within those who view and consume his works is at the base of his creations. Nothing is pushed to be commercial, he does not create to sell. - Though that would be nice!

“All of the arts, should make one feel something. If there is no feeling, it has missed the point” - Chris Fisher.
